Top 5 Things which can be expected from Apple in WWDC 2015
A huge annual get-together for the company’s software partners, the WWDC, or the Worldwide Developers’ Conference, happens to be one of the biggest highlights of Apple’s yearly calendar. Starting from the 8th of June and continuing through to the 12th of June, Apple announced to host the WWDC 2015, which will represent its 26th annual conference. The location will again be San Francisco’s Moscone West, which does not come as a surprise, as Apple sticks to the same venue always.
The Worldwide Developers Conference of 2015 which will kick off on the 8th of June is rumored to show off a wide range of exciting new products.
It is a kind of tradition that Apple unveils a wide range of new products which usually includes a new version of iOS and OS X, along with new Macs as well as new iPads too. Some of the highlights we believe Apple has up its sleeves this year are the long- reported paid music service, the Music app redesign on iOS 8.4 beta, a new television offering and Apple’s engagement with IBM to analyze health data.
However, the top five expectations from the WWDC this year are as follows:
A New Apple TV
Soon after the launch of the Apple Watch, it is most likely that Apple will take on television at the WWDC in June. Why I think so? Judging from the shape which is right at the center of the invite with the words ‘The epicenter of change’, it looks like Apple is definitely coming up with a new TV. And yes, it has also been a long time since Apple updated its setup box.
A HomeKit
Fitting in perfectly with the rumours about the Apple TV, and the connotation of the phrase ‘The epicenter of change’, the Apple TV is believed to become the central hub of everything relating to the HomeKit – Apple’s API which will allow us to be in complete control of all our gadgets and gizmos around our house. To find out exactly why Apple needs its Apple TV to help us control our devices in the home, we need to wait till June when it actually launches its HomeKit to the public.
Apple’s iOS 8.4 / iOS 9
The iOS 8.4/iOS 9, the next operating system software for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, is another highly believed rumour which is doing its rounds. It is supposed that Apple is focusing its efforts mainly on bug fixes, stability and optimization improvements rather than any or major changes in the design and features set. Hence, those expecting a new range of cool features may come in for a disappointment.
Apple’s new Music Streaming Service
The debut of the Beats-based music streaming service is believed to take place during the WWDC in June and is said to be based on technology acquired from Beats Music (with an entirely Apple-designed aesthetic that matches the Music app and iOS). It will include curated playlists, cloud-based libraries, and offerings customized to individual musical tastes. On the Mac side, the new service will be implemented with an iTunes update.
ResearchKit
It is said that the ResearchKit, which is an open source software framework in the vein of the HomeKit and the HealthKit, will turn an iPhone into a ‘powerful diagnostic tool for medical research’. Aiming at assisting doctors and scientists, the new software can be used to collect data more speedily, more accurately, and in a much more streamlined manner, in regard to multiple conditions such as Parkinson’s, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Asthma and Breast Cancer.
