Top 5 Tech Companies to Display Their Products at MWC 2018
Later this month the biggest yearly mobile show is going to happen in Barcelona. While the CES this years lacked any big surprise or lustre, Mobile World Congress can be the most awe-inspiring show with the unveiling of many high-end mobile devices. This year at the event, 5G technology is expected to draw a lot of attention from all around. Among the most rumoured flagships and new launches, we can count on several top brands. Here we picked top 5 tech brands that are going to launch their latest offerings at MWC 2018.
1) Samsung
The event is still a fortnight away, and all speculations indicate Samsung is going to steal the show with its latest flagship. Finally, at the 2018 chapter of MWC, we are going to have a look at the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, much-awaited flagship of Samsung. Technologically, what Samsung is really up to with its new flagship launch? Well, maybe we can count on a few things here.
- It is expected to deliver a new camera technology with value addition like more depth-sensing, better low-light picture shooting, etc.
- Latest Snapdragon 845 from Qualcomm will power Samsung’s cutting-edge flagship.
- Under the rear camera, there will be a fingerprint reader.
- More battery life is expected from the new phone.
With the kind of enthusiasm Samsung has shown for the event this year, it is widely rumoured that the company can launch some additional hardware as well. A different type of DeX docking station we can expect apart from some new manoeuvres to embrace the all-new 5G networking capacity.
2) Nokia
This year at the Mobile World Congress one brand can have really a stunning presence with several innovative launches, and it is none other than Nokia. It already seems the company is about to launch as many as six smartphones at the event this year. While all the surprises up its sleeve cannot be predicted now, we can have a look at some devices that Nokia is going to unveil at MWC 2018.
Nokia 1: Nokia 1 expected to sport a price tag well within $100 will be a budget smartphone with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It is rumored to run with a minimalist version of Android Oreo which is also referred as Android Go.
Nokia 7 Plus: Nokia 7 Plus is going to be an eye stunner for the company at the event. By taking clues from the leaked images, we can easily tell that the Nokia 7 Plus will sport a 6-inch HD+ screen allowing stunning visuals with the 18:9 aspect ratio. It is expected to have a slight bezel. It will sport a Snapdragon 660 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB of on-board storage. The phone running on Android One will also sport a 12MP + 13MP dual-camera on the rear side and a 16MP front camera.
Nokia 9: The biggest attention grabber from the company will obviously be the Nokia 9, latest premium flagship with all cutting-edge features and capacity. It is expected to sport a 5.5-inch OLED display and 128GB storage. It can only discourage us from calling it a cutting-edge phone just because of the little backdated Snapdragon 835 processor. But we can expect the dual camera on both sides of the phone.
3) LG
There are widespread rumors that suggest that LG will launch its latest G series phone LG G7 at the MWC this year. There are also rumours that LG can come with a completely redesigned G series phone with this launch.
LG is expected to deliver an improved version of the V30 phablet at the MWC. The new improved version will have features like automatic scene recognition for images, enhanced voice command range, and improved capacity for low-light photography.
LG can also launch new versions of its affordable K and X series phones.
4) Sony
With the fact that Sony already launched three new smartphones for this year, we are left with just the flagship Xperia XZ Premium 2 for the MWC this year. Sony is expected to make it a truly low footprint device in height, thickness and width and is expected to sport an ultra-tall 18:9 screen.
5) Huawei and Honor
There are too many rumours about the offerings of Huawei at MWC 2018. Huawei which was all set to launch its cutting-edge flagship Mate 10 Pro on AT&T on CES, just pulled it at the last moment and now we can expect it to be launched at MWC 2018.
There are also strong rumours that we can see Huawei P20, the followup smartphones of the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus can be launched at MWC. We also expect to see the launch of a new iteration of the Huawei Watch.
The Honor which is a Huawei subsidiary may not launch a new phone at the Barcelona event, but it can announce the official price and dates of availability for its new View 10 flagship in the U.S market.
Conclusion
Apart from the companies mentioned above, there are several other top mobility brands that are coming with their new flagship launches here at MWC 2018 event. Motorola, Blackberry and HTC are some of the other brands to watch out.
