The Top 5 Rumors Of The New iPhone 8
This is the year when Apple is celebrating the 10th year anniversary of iPhone. There are already too many rumors implying at the new and impressive features coming in this year’s iPhone.
Design:
The biggest change everybody is expecting to see from the iPhone 8 is the design. People are expecting a huge surface up of the handset’s screen-to-body ratio. The ratio shows how much of the phone’s front side is occupied by the display. But having an all-screen front appears to be really trendy in smartphones these days. But in order to include this design change, it will require the removal of the Home button, also the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. This has to be done in order to slim down the handset’s bezel. The most recent impressions that you will notice is a phone with only a small bezel protrusion on the top of the phone. This is expected to host 3D facial recognition sensors. It is a necessary addition given the removal of Touch ID. One major interesting design tweak is that there is a possibility of e a new ‘Blush Gold’ colour option for the iPhone 8.
Specifications:
Apple is expected to finally introduce OLED displays on the new iPhone. the pixels on an OLED screen produce their own light. That means the screen doesn’t need a backlight, saving power. There’s also talk of the iPhone 8 borrowing the iPad Pro’s ambient light-adjusting True Tone display, albeit under a new ‘True Colour’ display moniker. Apple is also highly likely to introduce a new system-on-a-chip (SoC) for the iPhone 8. Apple is said to carry over the dual-lens camera from the iPhone 7 Plus. The only specific change mentioned is that both lenses (wide-angle and telephoto) will feature optical image stabilisation; currently, only the wide-angle lens features OIS. The rumours also say that iPhone 8 will use an amazing and revolting front camera. It could come with 3D-sensing capabilities. This could be used to determine depth and location of objects in a 3D space, allowing for interesting augmented reality applications in the future.
Software:
Apple recently showcased the latest version of its mobile and tablet operating system iOS 11, in the month of June. the iPhone 8 is almost guaranteed to run on Apple’s new iOS 11 software, given that iOS 10 is now technically outdated. In iOS 11, there will be a bigger focus on apps and stickers, featuring a redesigned app picker. There’s also cloud syncing so your messages carry (or delete) across from an old phone to a new phone. Siri is getting a new voice that makes her much more lifelike too. She’ll also be able to translate your voice and speak out the response. Other changes include updates to the the camera and photos, a redesigned control centre, and modifications to Maps, Apple Music, and the App Store.
Face ID:
The iPhone 8’s rumoured ‘Face ID’ feature could be used for more than unlocking the device. Apple plans to utilise the facial recognition technology for Apple Pay authentication, adding weight to the rumours that Touch ID could be dumped altogether. Apple could also introduce a new ‘SmartCam’ scene selection features to the iPhone 8’s camera, that will be able to intelligently capture the best photos when shooting specific scenes like sun rises and fireworks.
Battery Life:
The iPhone 8 will feature a “significantly improved” battery life. This could be because of a new L-shaped battery configuration. It is expected to deliver iPhone 7 Plus-beating stamina, but in a significantly smaller chassis, it claims. The same report claims that pricing for the iPhone will start from $1,100 to $1,200, with Apple to offer the handset in 128GB and 256GB configurations. All the three new models iPhones launching this year are expected to support fast-charging. This is done by the adoption of Type-C Power Delivery technology. The iPhones will still retaining the Lightning port.
Conclusion.
The iPhone 8 will debut on September 12 or 13. While the release date is most probably going to be September 22 or 23. There are too many rumours doing rounds in the market, but the major additions include: OLED screens, powerful 10nm A11 chip, wireless charging, a 3D-sensing front camera, and an “all-screen front” design.
