Microsoft just recently unveiled a whole new set of products and updates that include a major Windows update, virtual reality, and 3D content. With these announcements, Windows is continually making an effort to advance into the future. This year’s Microsoft event was the most interesting with great updates.
Surface Studio
The Surface Studio is a touchscreen all-in-one desktop computer that’s just 12.55mm thick. The Studio has a beautiful 28-inch PixelSense display, GeForce 980M, an Intel i7 processor. Surface Studio comes with a memory of up to 32GB and storage of 2TB. The ‘zero-gravity hinge’ feature of Studio allows the screen to tilt down at a sharp angle.
Surface Studio is said to deliver 63 percent more pixels than a state-of-the-art 4K TV. It includes a studio HD camera for high-end video conferencing. This feature lets you computer move from a traditional design to a drafting board kind of thing for creative work. The Surface Studio is available on pre-order for $2,999.
Surface Dial
The Surface Dial is an input device for all of Microsoft’s latest Surface products. Press and hold Surface Dial to show you a menu of tools, which makes it easier and faster to do the things, while supporting your workflow. Using Dial, you can adjust the volume on your favorite track, scroll through news articles without touching your keyboard or mouse etc.
Dial provides helpful vibrations through the aluminum body into your fingertips, that help you stay in the moment and feel completely in touch with your work. Surface Dial gives quick access to the brush setting and makes fast and fluid color adjustments, and rotate or scale your canvas to achieve better control. Using Dial with Surface Studio, you can place it directly on the screen and watch as a color picker or ruler magically appears on your digital drawing board. Surface Dial is set to release in November for $99.99.
Surface Book i7
Microsoft upgraded last year’s model to integrate Intel’s i7 processor and a bigger battery. Surface Book delivers rich images and gaming power with an optional discrete graphics card and gives you increased speed and graphics performance you need for engineering and design.
Surface Book gives you lightning fast access to programs, videos, and music. You can detach the display to turn Surface Book into a thin tablet. The Surface Book is said to give you up to 16 hours of battery life even with more power, and with an extra fan to cool. The Surface Book i& will be made available in November for $2,399.
Windows 10 Creator’s Update
Creator’s Update is the new major update that Windows is getting early in 2017. The Creator’s Update includes things like live-streaming and 3D creation tools for the XBox app. The update also allows you to put people at the center of the Windows experience with whom you would like to have a close contact.
3D Paint & Windows VR Headset
The old classic Paint by Microsoft has been relaunched with a focus on 3D. Using the new Paint, you can easily photos into 3D memories, export 3D Minecraft creations and doodle in 3D. Microsoft also announced its first raid in the virtual reality with VR headsets from Windows 10.
The headsets run the same Windows Holographic platform as the HoloLens. HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, and Acer are going to make these headsets. The headsets will start from $299.
