Lenovo Yoga 900 – The Improved Convertible Laptop that can Turn Heads!
Lenovo has recently refreshed its flagship convertible laptop, the incredible Yoga Pro 3, with the new and even more incredible Yoga 900. Yoga Home 900, a portable all-in-one was also launched simultaneously for those who prefer the desktop.
It is not hard to surmise that the company has actually provided several handy improvements with the new model Yoga 900 compared to the Yoga Pro 3 which was ultraportable in weight but suffered from relatively short battery life and weak performance compared to its rivals. One can see that the company has swapped the slower Intel Core M processor and replaced it with the new Intel ‘Skylake’ Core processor that still fits the hinge and convertible design which is suitable for tablets too.
Display, Connectivity, Battery and the Desktop Version
The Lenovo Yoga 900 sports a fantastic 13.3-inch display too with a magnificent 3200×1800 pixel resolution. It is even powered with 8GB of RAM although the hard disk is a tad on the lower side with 256GB SSD storage. Users can opt between a Core i5 or Core i7 Skylake processor. Those who have opted for the Core i7 chipset are blessed with 512GB SSD internal storage.
- The laptop comes with 66Whr battery that is bumped up by about 50 percent, promising about nine hours of runtime
- It also features two USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C port, and even a headphone jack, along with an SD card reader as its connectivity options. The “laptab” runs Windows 10.
- The company also launched Yoga Home 900, which is now the first desktop in the Yoga lineup. It features a 27-inch full-HD display, powered by Intel’s fifth generation Core processors along with a powerful Nvidia GeForce 940A (2GB) graphics card.
- The all-in-one device has in-built battery that can let the system work for three hours on a trot on a single charge, and can also be used as a single tablet or a desktop.
- Base model includes i5-5200U processor, 8GB of DDR3L RAM and just about 256GB of SSD storage
- The base version also includes three USB 3.0 ports, a functional HDMI-in port, and dual speakers of 2.5 W each.
- Its Aura interface comes with varied apps and games fit for the large screen.
A couple of tweaks are made to the hardware, and the company ditched last year’s five-row keyboard to replace with a six-row setup. Now users can set brightness without the use of function key. There is also no more creaking sound when the display is rotated into tablet mode.
