Lenovo Mirage Solo – The Future of VR Has Arrived
Lenovo’s Mirage Solo is the world’s first standalone Daydream VR headset. Now you can experience virtual reality without a separate PC or smartphone, thanks to Lenovo’s Mirage Solo. It has a built-in 5.5-inch screen with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. The Mirage Solo has two front-facing cameras. These cameras enable WorldSense tracking, peering visibly through the headset’s front panel like big, round eyes. The applications will need to be improved for WorldSense motion. But over 70 applications already support it.

No built-in headphones
The Mirage Solo isn’t equipped with built-in speakers or headphones. Built-in headphones are becoming pretty much standard for new VR headsets. Compared to the Mirage Solo, Oculus was sold at $199, while the phone-based Gear VR was sold at $129. The Mirage Solo is priced at $399 and the Daydream View at $99. And the Daydream View still looks and feels better than the Mirage Solo.
A pretty good experience
The Mirage Solo is a VR experience offering six degrees of freedom. It has an excellent screen with light-directing Fresnel lenses and a 110-degree field of view. There are a number of games and experiences in the Daydream store with more surely to come. It comes with included earbuds which have a short cord made for a VR headset.
