HP Stream 11 #WorkFromHappyPlace Campaign for Ultraportable Gadgets
HP Malaysia is banking on its latest range of ultraportables for delivering mobility and productivity in one single package. The company is relying on its gadgets to deliver work-life balance in varied situations through its new #WorkFromHappyPlace campaign that it has launched, partnering with Intel Malaysia.
The two companies said the campaign was designed to help Malaysians “restore their work-life balance” by giving them the right devices so that they can work on the go.
Featuring the x2 and Stream 8 tablet that boast of built-in 3G connectivity, the devices were chosen for the said campaign also include HP Pavilion 10 x2, HP Stream 11, HP Stream 13 and so on. Most of the devices were launched in the first quarter of 2016 itself.
The Campaign Push
Speaking to Digital News Asia (DNA), HP Malaysia’s market development manager reiterated that there are multiple laptops and tablets in the market for varied use but their latest offerings have been better priced without any compromise on power and performance.
HP Pavilion 10 x2 for instance sports a 10-inch screen, a fantastic detachable dual-purpose keyboard that secures the screen from damage, a USB port, an HDMI port, microSD card with 64GB support and the operating system of Microsoft Windows 8.1.
Also, the laptop can work as a tablet by detaching the screen, making it more versatile. The split tablet-keyboard functionality and the mobile SIM card slot are new features of the HP device, allowing users to use the device on a PC connected to the web.
With varied products at different price points, here is a gadget that also includes a 3G SIM slot, which allows the user to access the web without the WiFi connection.
The HP Pavilion 10 x2 also sports the Intel energy-efficient Atom processor that pushes battery usage to 11 to 12 hours. It also carries a one-year free subscription to Office 365 Personal Edition with the package.
According to Karen Chow who is heading the multinational in Malaysia, HP Pavilion 10 x2 and HP Stream 8 are perfect devices for delivering the required productivity for most while also offering portability and performance. Chow also believed that Atom processors were suitable for multitasking especially for productivity-concerned users.
Laptops, Hybrids and Ultra-Portable Machines in Frenzy
By all accounts, HP Pavilion 10 x2 with its full-size keyboard is good for daily use. The attachment of the keyboard and its detachment is fairly easy to do too. With 2GB of DDR3L RAM and 32GB of storage space that is expandable up to 64 GB, it is a decent system.
On the other hand, HP Stream 11 is an even more portable system and a single-SIM tablet, efficient as the Pavilion. The Stream 8 sports an Intel Atom Z3735G processor with four cores and 1 GB RAM.
The 8-inch HD IPS display is wonderful too while the system runs on Windows 8.1 and just like the Pavilion, it has a one-year subscription to Office 365 and OneDrive as part of the package.
With a price of RM1,377 for the Pavilion and RM847 for the Stream, the products are well priced and look competitive at face value.
