Braava Jet – iRobot’s New Mopping Robot for Spic and Span Home
In the past few years, robotic vacuum cleaners have picked up pace in the consumer durables market. Built with intelligent programming, advanced sensor technology and state-of-the-art navigation, these robots are the perfect way to reach and clean tight corners in homes and offices. With substantial scope for success, there are many companies that are designing new and innovative robotic cleaners that is resulting in stiff competition in the market.
iRobot Braava Jet
iRobot, the American advanced technology company known for building military and police robots, has added another product in its product line and launched its latest mopping robot, the iRobot Braava Jet. Braava is specifically designed for cleaning hard floors in areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Being a more advanced and compact version of iRobot’s Braava 300 series that was designed to clean larger spaces, the Braava is crafted to work in smaller areas and around furniture. Measuring only 7×6.7×3.3, Braava is compact enough to easily fit into tight spaces and corners, under furniture such as beds and sofas and around fixtures in toilets.
Built-in Intelligent Sensors
While most robotic cleaners rely on random patterns to cover a specific area, the Braava jet uses a mapping algorithm to learn about its surroundings and clean the floor efficiently without damaging furniture. Built to work well in smaller areas, the Braava has sensors that map and track where it has been that helps it mop in an efficient and systematic cleaning design. Braava continues its operation until the whole room is clean. The cliff sensors prevent it from rolling down a flight of stairs, ensuring its safety. By creating an invisible boundary in Virtual Wall Mode, users can keep the Braava from venturing into areas like carpeted floors.
3 Cleaning Modes
- Braava jet features 3 cleaning modes: wet, damp and dry. It has a cleaning head that is compatible with various Braava cleaning pads.
- Based on the type of pad that is installed, Braava automatically adjusts its cleaning mode.
- When a wet mopping pad is inserted, Braava does a triple pass cleaning motion, sprays water through the precision jet spray and seamlessly tackles dirt and stains with the water-activated cleaning agent.
- The damp sweeping pad makes the Braava perform a double pass cleaning motion, with a reduced spray and water-activated cleaning agent.
- With the dry sweeping pad, Braava performs a single pass cleaning to trap and lock dust, dirt and pet hair.
- The Braava also supports the washable wet cleaning pad that are washable and reusable.
Easy Operation
- Using Braava is easy. Users just have to press the “clean” button and Braava automatically knows what to do.
- The Braava has a precision jet spray that loosens dirt and the vibrating cleaning head gently scrubs stains.
- The in-built advanced navigation software scans for obstacles in its path before spraying water that prevents it from damaging furniture, rugs and walls.
- Once the path is free of obstacles, Braava sprays water that wets and loosens dirt and results in a clean surface.
- After the cleaning job is complete, by pressing the eject button, users can directly throw the used pads into a bin, without having to dirty their hands.
Enjoy a Cleaner Home
With Braava, users can now say goodbye to everyday messes. Built with intelligent sensors and advanced navigation technology, Braava ensures a cleaner home by efficiently mopping surface made of wood, tile or stone. Braava will be available in the market from 1st April 2016. While the robot will carry a price tag of $199, replacement cleaning pads will be available at $7.99 for a pack of 10 pads.
