Yoga Tablet 2: Finally Lenovo launches a Windows Tablet
When you witness a discussion on any forum or a blog about the best tablets for productivity, which tablets do come to your mind? I am sure iPad is great, so are the windows tablets but what about the Android tablets? Android tablets are multimedia devices that might be a perfect fit for multiple occasions but when productivity is at stake, you better not go with Android tablets and always look for their Windows counterparts. But companies have started taking the Android tablet segment pretty seriously and the results are relieving for Android enthusiasts. Here we will discuss about the Windows version of the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 launched recently.
Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2:
Lenovo recently launched the Windows version of the 10-inch Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2, the previous Android version was 1050F. The 1051F with Windows 8.1, HDMI and one year free Office 365 with 32 GB internal storage is available at around $491. Now this price is $123 more than the Android version, but how about a dockable Bluetooth Keyboard that accompanies the Windows device. The New Yoga Tablet 2 matches the Android version of the tablet with only a few minor changes that you could pass.
Features of Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2:
Let us take a look at the tablet’s Windows experience and the experience was very much similar to when we worked on the Android version of the tablet. The Windows Yoga Tablet 2 comes with a 13.3 inch quad HD display, 1.86 GHz quad core Intel Atom chip, 15 long hours of battery, Bluetooth 4.0, Dual Band Wi-Fi, a kickstand and 64 GB of removable storage.
The problem is that the Windows version lacks the Android version’s built-in projector, as well as its rear camera, opting instead for a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Yoga Tablet 2 is also slightly heavier at 2.27 lbs – and this is without the keyboard. Lenovo officials state that the Yoga Tablet 2 is for everyone but it seems like this might have been created for businesses as the large size is quite uncomfortable to deal with at times.
Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 : To buy or not to buy?
The Yoga Tablet 2 with Windows is quite like the list of Lenovo products, that is really good. Yoga, at the moment is trying its best to compete with the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, but this just might miss out on being the household name. The other good fact about Yoga Tablet 2 is that it is on the lighter side as compared to Surface Pro 3.
While you need to pay an extra $100- $130 for the keyboard of Microsoft Surface Pro, the Yoga Tablet 2 comes with a free keyboard and it so good that you can hang the tablet upside down and it won’t fall off. So, we would recommend the Yoga Tablet 2 as a decent buy.
