Top 5 Products One would Expect at MWC 2016
The Mobile World Congress always manage to surprise tech geeks and analysts out there as companies announce their choicest offerings in the mobile world. The event will be held for the mobile industry in Barcelona from 22-25 February which will see various manufacturers, except Apple to announce their new products for the year.
Here are five products that one can expect this year:
1. Samsung Galaxy S7
Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy S7 and its Edge version on February 21 as media invitations are sent too for its Unpacked Event. Although the announcement is not confirmed, one can expect Galaxy S7 to be launched just as S6 was launched last year at MWC 2015. One of their representatives even tweeted the images for the new mobile handset which features a slightly rounder shape, although similar in design to other phones in the lineup.
One can expect the return of the microSD card slot and even its water resistant casing. The processors are expected to be Snapdragon 820 while some rumours suggest the use of Exynos M1 processor. The phone might include a magnesium alloy build, with Turtle Glass display. A better 12MP camera can be expected along with pressure- sensitive 3D Touch technology.
2. LG G5
LG has recently sent out press invites for their launch event at MWC 2016 and the reports confirm the launch of LG G5 at the event too.
LG G5 is expected to be equipped with a big 5.6-inch display with an incredible HD display resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, powered by the latest quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor. Also, early specs reveal 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of expandable storage. It will also include 20MP main camera paired with a fantastic 8MP front-facing camera on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow platform.
3. Microsoft Lumia Phone
Microsoft recently unveiled Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, but since the company range is sparse compared to its counterparts, it might make another launch. One can expect the launch of not one, but two new mid-range models which are named the Lumia 750 and 850 at MWC 2016.
The Lumia 750 is believed to feature Snapdragon 617 processor with a powerful 2GB of RAM and minimum memory of 16GB. The phone will either feature a 5.4-inch or 5.7-inch screen with Full HD display.
4. Sony Xperia Z6
Sony has always loved double launches but it might only unveil the successor to Xperia Z5 this time around. Most features are expected to remain the same. But there are a few changes with the introduction of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 chip that will offer varied performance improvements. Talks are on about its pressure-sensitive display which will be in line with Apple’s introduction of 3D Touch panel in its latest launch.
Sony Xperia Z6 is expected to be launched in five variants – Z6 Mini which will be a 4-inch smartphone, Z6 Compact that will be a 4.7-inch avatar, the normal Z6 with 5.2-inch display, Z6 Plus with 5.8-inch display and the Xperia Z6 Ultra featuring a 6.4-inch display.
5. HTC One M10
The HTC One M10 can be unveiled at the MWC 2016 as the successor to flagship model, the One M9 which was moderately successful.
The One M10 is expected to be different than its predecessor since the developers have worked on performance issues too. It is expected to look different too than the One M9.
A set of innovative features can be expected from the flagship model with the introduction of wireless charging and a varied exterior composition. The phone will not be metal-based as decided previously, since wireless charging does not work well with phones with metal bodies.
