Vivo V9: An Impressive iPhone X Lookalike at an Affordable Price
Vivo, the Chinese smartphone brand has just launched Vivo V9, a budget smartphone that looks a lot like the iPhone X beside offering equally stunning specs and features. Sporting a quite affordable price tag it makes an appealing choice for customers who have long been stunned by iPhone X while cannot afford it.
Vivo Vivo V9 first impression
For smartphone buyers often the first impression is the last impression, and it is particularly true for V9 which is designed to stun eyes with an all screen design and a little notch on the top that at a glance makes it look like iPhone X. The best thing is you can lay your hand on this iPhone X lookalike just at a fraction of the price. While in the same price bracket you have several choices nothing equals this cute large screen smartphone whether in looks and features. That’s the first impression one has after the first session of handling the device.
Design and display
Vivo is known for copying the top notch smartphone design to deliver affordable phones and this new lookalike of the iPhone X is just the latest effort in that line. The new Vivo V9 offers a big edge-to-edge display along with a notch at the very top. The notch looks smaller than that of the iPhone X that allows the device sporting a huge 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio which is quite awesome by the standard of a budget phone. It also sports a bigger 6.3-inch sized screen. The notch at the top seems to be a little meaningless considering the fact that it hides no extra hardware piece.
Vivo V9 also comes loaded with a Face Unlock feature besides fingerprint scanner. It also comes with a headphone jack. Unlike the iPhone X, the backside is still built with plastic. In overall measures, it flaunts a look that can be quite appealing to the budget smartphone buyers.
Vivo V9 flaunts a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a crisp resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and stunning 9:9 aspect ratio. The screen of the phone looks quite flashy and offers great video watching and imaging experience. The screen doesn’t seem to offer too bright a view, and it is one small shortcoming that can be noticed by seasoned users.
Performance, software, and battery
Vivo V9 as a mid-end budget smartphone offers quite a good package under the hood. The phone comes powered by a Snapdragon 626 processor along with 4GB RAM, and 64GB inbuilt storage space. You can further extend the storage capacity with a microSD card. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chipset is adequate for handling all regular smartphone tasks.
The phone comes loaded with a 3260mAh battery that helps to keep you alive continuously for a full day. Should hopefully keep you going for a full day. The downside is there is no fast charging support as normally expected from most flagships these days.
Vivo V9 though comes loaded with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo mobile operating system; it offers its own twist with an overlay on top of this OS. The smartphone offers an easy to use and engaging swipe-based navigation system that just works perfectly for all the tasks.
Camera
On the backside of the Vivo V9, you can find a robust dual-lens camera stacked vertically just in the way of the iPhone X. The dual lens set up consists of a primary 16MP f/2.0 aperture lens along with a secondary 5MP lens with f/2.4 aperture. For adequate light conditions and in daylight the Images captured with the Vivo V9 looks quite well though it lacks sharpness when compared to the top-notch devices.
There are few other things about the new Vivo V9 camera that are worth mentioning. The new V9 smartphone is also capable of delivering a depth-of-field effect with all your photos. Though this effect doesn’t make the camera output dramatically different it seems to work well within its limit. There is also a 24MP camera front camera with f/2.0 aperture lens which can snap very clean and sharp selfies. The V9 also utilises artificial intelligence to give selfies more depth and sharper quality.
In a snapshot
If you are interested in an iPhone X lookalike with great specs and an affordable price tag, Vivo V9 looks having quite a good package to offer. If you can’t just afford a breathtakingly priced Apple iPhone X but still want to settle for a similar design at a bearable price, V9 rather comes as an impressive choice.
