Design
It is not a flashy and overpowering design with with all glass and curved screen that Google preferred with its Pixel 2. Instead of following flashy design examples of close competitors like iPhone X or latest Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel 2 rather chosen the middle path and what came out is a simple, effective and smooth design truly stood apart from all others. An aluminium finish and a sleek easy to grip built made it quite outstanding to hold in hand.
It Also Has No Headphone Jack
That is not less than a heart warming revelation. Yes, Google Pixel 2 has no headphone jack. But the phone coming with a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box will allow pairing with traditional wired headphones in the market. Actually, Google wants you to listen music by connecting over Bluetooth 5.0 and the company is already on its effort to partner brands to come up with its own wireless headphones.
Cameras
If you want to choose one big reason to pick up Pixel 2 it is its awesome camera and imaging features. Google chosen to go with the single lens on the rear side but incorporated an array of features to make your shots crispier than ever. The new imaging features of the phone are quite interactive and powered by machine learning. This would ensure serving your image capturing passion just the way you like it to be. Apart from robust pixel count and several fps modes, the camera offers new optical image stabilisation along with electronic image stabilization. It has advanced phase detection to make your focus right with the dual pixels. With auto HDR mode the new Pixel offers havoc capacity for photography in low light conditions.
HDR And Augmented Reality
The new Pixel will make many things appear livelier with HDR and augmented reality effects. Motion Photos, a feature in new Pixel will work more like Apple’s Live Photos. With this feature capturing a motion clip instantly like a regular photo is easier than ever. Though we are still unsure whether the file formats for these motion photos will be supported by social media platforms or not.
Google Assistant
The masterstroke of the Pixel 2 lies obviously with the launch of the Google Assistant. The new virtual assistant can offer equal outputs comparable to Siri of Apple. But when it comes to detecting the locations and Googling it instantly to serve you information about the things in front of you, it would enjoy an edge. The home screen of the new phone would look crispier and smarter with easy access to everything through the Google search box. Google Lens being fully supported with Pixel will help recognising the elements of the photos like landmarks, books, recipes, etc. The microphone on the other hand will identify any music playing in your surroundings before coming with the information about it right on your screen. Pixel 2 can really change the way we Google things right on our mobile device screen. Along with smooth and simple design and awesome image and video processing techniques it is coming with a lot of intelligent features to redefine mobile user experience once more.
