Top Five Smartwatches to Look for in 2016
Smartwatches are the latest fad in wearables as people are always wanting more features embedded with the gadget. Also, with the rising trends in smartwatch apps and new versions of operating systems being launched, these are more than just eye-candy.
Apple Watch 2
The second-generation Apple Watch is expected to be launched in early 2016, in March to be precise, exactly after a year of the advent of first Apple Watch. Shipments are expected in April 2016 itself.
The Apple Watch 2 will include some sensors which were not part of the first version. These sensors include skin conductivity and assessment of blood oxygen level along with blood pressure. Now the Apple Watch 2 is expected to be a thinner device than the first but will still enough space for a FaceTime camera. This means that the new watch from Apple might facilitate users to make and receive FaceTime calls. Additionally, the new watch will include a Wi-Fi chip that will boost its web connectivity and even extend its features with the help of apps and their updates.
Huawei Watch
Huawei has caught on the gender trend for wearables. Their new innovation is geared “for women” which is the new Huawei Watch. One might expect upgrades on the internals and even several aesthetic differences since it is touted to be a round watch. It will have a rounder watch case for adhering to the standards set by feminine-looking bands. Having followed the accessories trend, one can expect the watches and their bands to be small and in gold or rose gold as well.
The existing Huawei Watch has a premium hefty feel which means that it will not be a great fit for thin wrists. It may appear in the CES 2016.
The watch is expected to make the rounds during the second half of next year and a cellular version of the device is something one can view in 2016 as Android Wear is officially supporting cellular connectivity.
Moto 360 Sport
Moto 360 Sport is Motorola’s new smartwatch which is now available in sporty colours – Black, White, and flame orange – indicating a trendy look compared to the other smartwatches. Also, it does feature a heart rate sensor, optical heart rate monitor, wireless charging capabilities and the like. Moto 360 also includes a smart charging dock too. One of the best parts of Moto 360 is that it is water resistant and dust resistant. The ambient light sensor is also incorporated in the smartwatch.
Moto 360 has a 300mAh battery which can work throughout the day with mixed use and Wifi.
LG Watch Urbane 2
LG’s new Watch Urbane 2 is a smartwatch that the flagship wearable and successor to Urbane. The company launched the watch at the New York launch event. According to some reports, it is expected to be more expensive than the first Urbane at around £175. The Urbane 2nd Edition features a bigger P-OLED screen than its predecessor while the resolution is now 480×480, which is the highest resolution.
The battery capacity is 570mAh. It also has SIM support which features 4G, 3G or Wi-Fi. The Urbane 2 is expected to go on sale in US and Korea followed by the European countries.
