LG G Flex 2 : Is Curve the future of Smartphones?
You must have read our write up on the International CES 2015, that is where we wrote about the smart homes, curved smartphones and all types of weird but actually thoughtful devices which will change the way we approach technology. LG has come up with a smartphone named LG Flex 2, the more improved version( As per LG) of the earlier version LG Flex, which was also a curved smartphone. We will go through the features of the curved smartphone and will also let you know whether Curved smartphones will soon be in fashion.
LG G Flex 2 Curved Smartphone:
As per the name of the smartphone, it has a slightly curved screen. If LG is to be believed then it makes easier to hold the smartphones and make the display readable and more user friendly. LG has reported that it has reduced the size of the Flex 2 significantly compared to the original Flex smartphones, which brings us to a conclusion that smartphone sizes are going to decrease in the days to come as people are fed up with the huge screens and the problems that come with a large smartphone.
Specifications of LG G Flex 2:
The G Flex 2 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 2.0 GHz 64 bit Octa Core CPU and a 5.5 inch full HD Curved display. The phone is packed with a 2GB RAM with microSD slot up to a staggering 2 TB. The rear camera is quite good with 13.0 MP and a laser auto focus front camera with 2.1 MP for the selfie lovers. Battery life is good compared with other smartphones with similar specifications and it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The smartphone comes in two beautiful colours : Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red.
What is new about the LG G Flex 2?
The LG G Flex 2 curved smartphone is 5.5 inches which the company considers is just the right length for smartphones. It is the same size as compared to Apple Inc’s iPhone 6, but it looks actually shorter to the iPhone when you place these two smartphones together.
But with most of the flashy smartphones with shining backs there is always that problem of scratches and it doesn’t really look good after a long term usage. So, LG has a solution for this problem. They have introduced a “scratch proof”. This back cover will have self healing properties and the scratches will just disappear on their own in a few seconds. The screen is not scratch proof though but it is better with a coat of a special chemical layer applied to the Gorilla Glass.
The specifications of the LG Flex 2 are really impressive and far better than the original Flex smartphone, but there is still no conclusion as to why it has to be curved. Sure it makes the Flex 2 really smart and one hell of a device, if looks could kill but it’s quite comfortable to use too. Sure the G Flex 2 has a lot of advantages in their favour for and the ball is now in their court, it is now their game to lose. If you have any updates about the LG G Flex 2, please mention it in the comments below.
